چکیده
A collisional-radiative non-equilibrium impurity treatment for JOREK 3D nonlinear magneto-hydrodynamic (MHD) simulations has been developed. The impurities are represented by super-particles flowing along the fluid velocity field lines, while ionizing and recombining independently according to ADAS data local density temperature. contributions then projected back self-consistent time evolution. 2D test case is used compare new model against previous Coronal Equilibrium (CE) treatment, as well behavior between single two temperature model. Further, we conduct benchmark with previously published coronal results other MHD codes such M3D-C1 NIMROD. shown successfully capture early phase cooling weakly ionized which CE missed. benchmarks NIMROD show general agreement in both integrated quantities profile evolution, despite difference atomic used. above comparison cases demonstrate capability of JOREK, paving way more sophisticated non-linear Massive Material Injection (MMI) have important applications disruption mitigation studies.

Non regression testing for the JOREK code
Non Regression Testing (NRT) aims to check if software modifications result in undesired behaviour. Suppose the behaviour of the application previously known, this kind of test makes it possible to identify an eventual regression, a bug. Improving and tuning a parallel code can be a time-consuming and difficult task, especially whenever people from different scientific fields interact closely. ...
متن کاملProposal for high-power radiative-collisional lasers.
We propose the use of the radiative-collisional laser process for the extraction of energy that is stored in the resonance lines of the alkali atoms. The largest calculated gain occurs in Rb at 5.4 microm and is 8%/cm at a resonance-line population of 5 x 10(16) atoms/cm(3).
متن کاملNon-rotating and rotating radiative-convective equilibrium
Radiative-convective equilibrium (RCE), in which the radiative cooling in the atmosphere is balanced by the convective heating in a horizontally homogeneous environment, is a good starting point for studying tropical convection. It also provides an idealized framework to compare analogous simulations by global climate models (GCMs) which rely on convective parameterizations, and cloud-resolving...
متن کاملCollisional energy transfer modeling in non-equilibrium condensing flows
Molecular dynamics and DSMC models for energy transfer in argon dimer argon monomer collisions are compared. The inelastic collision number for these collisions is evaluated, and found to decrease significantly when gas temperature increases.
متن کاملSensitivity of Radiative–Convective Equilibrium Simulations to Horizontal Resolution
This paper investigates the impacts of horizontal resolution on the statistical behavior of convection. An idealized radiative–convective equilibrium is simulated for model resolutions ranging between 2 and 50 km. The simulations are compared based upon the analysis of the mean state, the energy and water vapor transport, and the probability distribution functions for various quantities. It is ...
